The MacGahan American Bulgarian Festival is held the weekend closest to the birthdate (June 12) and death date (June 9) of Januarius MacGahan, native son of New Lexington. This year will mark the 40th annual festival and the 140th anniversary of the death of MacGahan. New Lexington is one hour southeast of Columbus, OH.

Friday, June 8th:
7:30: Gathering for early arrivals at The Knights Of Columbus Hall in Jefferson St., Monument Square.
Saturday, June 9th:
10:00 a.m.: Memorial Service at the New Lexington Cemetery officiated by Father Vladimir Bakurdzhiev (Fairlawn, OH)
11:00 a.m.: Flower and wreath laying ceremony at the statue
12:00: Bulgarian-American luncheon at the FUMC Fellowship Hall Remarks by the Guest of Honor: Dr. Tihomir Stoytchev, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the U.S.
